hasty retreat. Trust was restored to the people. The President
thanked the troops and it went home in the very best humor. The
Secretary of War and the Head of Personnel it stopped to publish orders; and
the bushwhackerses of the quartermaster hung on their account-hooks. The most greater
and general of brigade-generals it went to congratulating himself/herself/itself each other on the part
they had taken in the defense. Twos in the morning of Wednesday,
an advance was orderly with the two divisions of the sixth Body;
but when the line of skirmish took possession in Silver Springs, there
it was not a rebel in arm to be seen. General had done good Soon
goes to all speed' during the night, and you/he/she was making the best of his/her way through
the Potomac and house to his/her master.

This way it ended the more extraordinary history of siege it has some account of.

And now, my child, I cannot close this history without any words on
the character and behavior of the Mr. Jefferson Davis to which the ambition
this siege of our capital was due. You/he/she has been said from very of
his/her friends that have access to the newspapers to which he has gone
this war not only very reluctantly, but with green shows on.
Wanting as I am to generously treat with him, and to forgive him/it each
and every one of his/her sins, and to send out it in the world to
you look for reparation for them, I cannot divide this opinion. And for the
reason that I am happened to know the Mr. Davis in summer of 1850, when
he was the touching spirit of a convention of "Fire-eaters" that
assembled together with Nashville Tenn. And I have a disdains
memory of a discourse he did on that occasion in that
arm separation was exhorted, and any love for the advanced union. ME
you also remember that that discourse was compensated with whistles,
despite the element of strong dis-union of the convention. His
the antipathy of the union and it plans for separating the nation, it is well
known, you/he/she had been the besettings they sin of his/her brain for twenty years.
