Missionary congregational to Galena, Sick., to the congregational one
Society of the Missionary of the house under it dates some April 9 th 1844:
"When I came to Galena (in 1829), there was no church or
ecclesiastical inside two hundred miles, and I said me that mine
parish extended him from the River of Rock to Wisconsin. I can now count
among this it limits twenty-five churches and fifteen ministers.
"Does then those that who think few to the influences of the House
Stain of Society of missionary out to be those twenty-five churches,
and it drives out some state those fifteen cleric, and it skids
fifty Saturday-schools, and it burns thousand Bibles, and it recalls a
thousand volumes of the Drawn Society, and it stops the monthly visit
of a line in five hundred houses, and it gives again a drunk father
to fifty families what time you/they are cheering himself/herself/itself in the peace and the abundance
consequent on their regeneration." And he/she anchors this job of
vandalism is not done until you you/he/she has taken back that brook of
paradisiacal influence to which you/he/she has gone on from this district
blesses the pagan in our forests and the pagan over the ocean,
and until You you/he/she has remembered that society of young men that you/they have
gone away for the office.
"We have need inside this field missionary than you/they can bear
deprivations, and that, to satisfy their appointments, can face a
storm of grassland and it strikes a swollen brook, and that, as them
Divine master, can take the top of mountain for their study and the
now midnight for the season of their devotion.
"We want here also assistance in the west to establish literary
(instructive) institutions on the correct base, and if the
teachers of the east would come and they would see what I see, they is able
you court the honor of contribution to establish the seminar female
in Galena that was projected yesterday, and what next week is
to start his/her existence. This church has sustained a German
colporter during the winter."
