The strength from Bengal, consisting of approximately 9,500 men of the whole arm, with
38,000 followers of field, accompanied by Shah the tax of Soojah, left
Ferozepore in December, and crossing the Indus, reached Dadur the
entry to the Passage of Bolam, in March 1839. The difficulties with the Ameers

territories; but their remonstrations were neglected, and they was
informed that 'their day they connected him with some other Power

The army advanced then through the Bolam, and you/he/she reached Quetta March

possible enemies that go away to its back, passed on, and it reached Candahar
without opposition to April. At the end of June it restarted his/her March
toward north, and Ghuznee has been stormed and has been captured, our troops
without the further fight reached Cabul April 6. Dost Mahomed,
abandoned for the time from his/her people, you run away on the Hindoo toward north
Koosh, finding a provisional shelter in Bokhara and Shah in which Soojah has reigned
his/her place.
Till now the great consignment had apparently brought defeasible its object, and
the success of the tripartite essay among us, the Sikhs, and
the new Ameer had been performed with success, almost entirely,
however, alone as the pre-dominant partner.
