PREFACE
The subject of our policy on the frontier of Northwest of India is one of
great importance, as striking the general welfare of our Oriental
Empire, and it is especially interesting to the present, when military duration
operations on a considerable staircase are conducted against a
combination of the independent tribes along the frontier.
It is had to understand that the present condition of business is anybody mere
I burst sudden from our turbulent neighbours. Its causes lie
far more depth, and it is the consequences of events in the past years.
In the following pages I have tried to give a short historian
summary of his/her phases that vary, in the hope that I can assist so the
I publish in of the degree to understand his carrying general, and to form a
correct opinion of the policy that should be undertaken in the future.
