CHAPTER ME.
MR. ROSCOE RECEIVES TWO LETTERS.
The Mr. Roscoe encircled the bell, and, in answer, a servant entered, the
library, where he sat of forehead to a great and spacious desk.
"Has The mail still arrived?" he asked.
"Yes, gentleman; John is returned as soon as from the village."
"Immediately goes and you bring me the letters and papers, if there is some."
John arched and withdrew.
The Mr. Roscoe walked to the window, and it looked out thoughtfully on a
smooth, luxuriant lawn and an avenue of magnificent trees, through
what carriages were driven to that that was generally known as Castle
Roscoe. All, also in the room luxuriously named in that
he sat, suitable wealth and the ease that come from the abundance.
The Mr. Roscoe looked around him with exultation.
"And all this can be mine", he told him, "if I am only daring.

The servant opened the purse, and you/he/she voided the contents on the desk.
There were three or four papers and two letters. It was the last
what it attracted the attention of the Mr. Roscoe.
