Capitolo 5
Another day when one of the pupils was bandaged and it drew a slip of
you carpet, the name on the slip was _Bob_. It was so finally the turn of Bob.
This is the history that Bob has told:
"My pet is a pony called Beau. Grandfather bought him/it for me. He found him/it
from a man that it had a show of pony. This man had taught many makeups Beau.
"When I say me, 'the Beau, how old is it?' Beau gets up the anterior and correct foot
and the door down three times. This is as he says that he is three years old
old of years. When I say me, 'Face an arc, Beau', he puts out his/her anterior feet
and arcs his/her head almost to the earth. Its mane hangs on its eyes and
he seems very amusing.
"Beau can play 'Hideaway-and-go-circles' also. This is his/her way of doing him. ME
takes an ear of corn and you show him/it to him. Then I race and I hide him/it. I call,
'Comes, Beau, come.' He comes and it looks for all around the corn. When him
discoveries it, he picks him/it up in his/her mouth and it goes to the trot around and around with him.
When I say me, 'you Bring me him, Beau', he comes to me with the ear of corn
in his/her mouth. But when I try to take the corn, him the head shakes him and
you trot again away.
"One day I tried to play 'Hideaway-and-go-circles' with a handkerchief instead
of an ear of corn. Beau didn't like it this way. He looked at the
handkerchief. Then he sniffed to him. Finally him the head shook him and
turned away. He seemed to say, 'A game as that can be amusing for a boy,
but it is not amusing for a pony. I won't play.'"
Each liked the history of Beau. Some of his/her/their children asked to feel
some more around him. But it said Miss West it was for interruption now. Then the
children went out to the enclosure of school and "Pony" played and "Hideaway-and-
Go-circles."
Another day someone drew the name of Peggy on the slip of paper. And this is
what said Peggy:
"My pet is a great green and red parrot. You have a cage in the living one
room. Mother calls her/it 'the General' because you/he/she likes to give orders.
