my sentence to an invain conclusion, shaking around the Plaza in

out laughing louder that never, and it declared that I was not teaching
him, but joking with him;  and saying this way him opened the door and runs
out in the room.  This way it ended my first attempt to convert a pupil to
the Gospel of Three Dimensions.

My failure with my Nephew didn't encourage me to communicate
my secret to others of my family;  I was still conducted of it neither
to despair some success.  Only I saw that I don't have to count completely on
the taking-sentence, "Direct upward not Toward north", but it owes rather endeavour
to look for a demonstration putting in front of the public a clear sight
of the whole subject;  and for this purpose it seemed necessary
to resort to writing.

Then I devoted many months in reserve to the composition
of an essay on the mysteries of Three Dimensions.  Only,
with the perspective to escape the Law, if possible, I didn't speak
of a physical Dimension, but of a Thoughtland from which, in theory,
a Figure could repute down Flatland and you/he/she could simultaneously see
the insides of all the things, and where possible was that
it is probable that there I/you/he/she am supposed that an environed of Figure exists,,
as is, with six Plazas, and containing eight end point.
But in writing this book that I have sadly founded from which I have prevented
the impossibility to draw such diagrams as is necessary
for my purpose:  for clearly, in our country of Flatland,
there are not any tablets but Lines and any diagrams but Lines,
all in a right Line and only distinguishable from difference
of ransom and the brightness;  this way that, when I had ended my essay
(what I entitled, "Through Flatland to Thoughtland")
I could not feel certain that many would understand my meaning.

In the meantime my wife was under a cloud.  All the pleasures became boring on me;
