belief.  For, to make in their taller sense the words of the

     What you say it adds to nature, it is an art
     That nature ago.'


"Not as temporary therefore wants the respect of man I test the faith

That passage comforts me.  These, are then my ideas.  They can be
you straighten, they can be wrong.  But at least them they are the sincere ones and
the personal sentences of a honest man, guaranteed in him from that
spirit of the age of which each of us is but an automatic weapon
mouth.

The time was afternoon of Saturday;  the place was Carriage;  the person
of the play Phillip was Christy.

He had come down in the first fast train to Brackenhurst.  All the
world knows Brackenhurst, clearly the more green and leafier than
our southern suburbs.  It also looked more beautiful than his accustomed only
then, that city of villas, in the first fresh tenderness of his pale
spring foliage, the first full throw of water of lilac, laburnum, horse-
