Capitolo 55
"Oh, hangs him, if so a lot you would appreciate a quarter, I will pay for the
him gamblings. Only comes and games."
Harry the head shook him.
"I don't want to have a good time me to Your expense."
"You are a miser", said Luke, angrily.
"You can call me so, if he likes", it said Harry, firmly; "but that
it won't do him/it this way."
"I don't see how you can call anything other, if you are
so afraid to spend Your money."
"I am the good rights."
"What am I/you/they?"
"I told once him that I had another use for the money."
"To heap away in an old stocking", said Luke, sneering.
"You can say this way, if he likes", it said Harry, while turning away.
He knew that he was right, but it was unpleasant to have called a
stingy. He was too much proud to justify him to Luke that spent everybody
his/her money foolishly, earning nevertheless wages notably greater than
him.
There was a thing that Harry had not been able to do to some yet
great extension, although it was anything he had to heart. He didn't have
forgotten his/her witticism, "Long live and you Learn", and now that he was in a
equitable way to earn a living, he felt that he had not made advance in
learning during the few weeks from when he arrived in Glenville.
The preceding day he had felt, for the first time, that there
it was a public library in another part of the city that was open
evenings. Although it was far two miles, and he had been at work
every day, he determined to walk up there and to find a book. He felt that
he was a lot of ignorant person, and that his/her advance in the depended world
to the his I improve all the opportunities that would introduce him
to extend his/her limited knowledge. Evidently this was one.
After his/her unsatisfactory interview with Luke, he put out for the
superior village, as you/he/she had called. The walk of forty minutes brought him/it
to the building in which the library was kept. An elderly man had
position of him--a Mr. Parmenter.
"Can I take a book?" Asked Harry.
"Does he/she live in the city?"
"Yes, gentleman."
