Alberich jumped in front of him.

"You astute scoundrel, skilled!" Cried Alberich. "What does he/she want here? Have! ME

But Mimes it shouted:--

"You won't have the gold! 'T is mine! Long years I have gotten tired and

MIMES AND ALBERICH STOP TO QUARREL TOO MUCH FROM A LOT

While Mimes and Alberich quarreled, Siegfried came from the dragon
cavern, bearing the helmet and the ring.

He didn't feel sound save the to rustle some leaves and the song of the
bird.

Again he sat him on the shade of a tree.

"Cannot small bird, help a true friend find me?" asked
Siegfried.

"Every year you have Your consort and the Your small birdlings in the nest. You
you sing songs with the other birds.

"I have never known a father or a mother, a sister or a brother. I am
solitary.

"Is not there in any place in this whole world of the one that I can love? Of the one
who will love me?"

Then the wood-bird started to sing a beautiful love-song of an unmarried sleep
on the crest of a mountain, it surrounded from fire.

Pleasant he sang:--"Only he who know that any fear can ask her/it for his
bride."

Siegfried jumped to his/her feet. "I don't know fear. I have tried with everybody
my strength to learn him/it. Oh, you help me to find the mountain where
she sleeps!"

The small bird flew away in the direction opposed from where the
bad Nibelungs was standing, while quarreling, and Siegfried expedited later cheerfully.


SIEGFRIED REACHES THE MOUNTAIN

A heavy storm rose as Siegfried and the bird it drew near to the foot of the
mountain where Brunhilde slept. There were ringings of deep thunder.
