THE HAPPY-GO-LUCKY RHINE-DAUGHTERS
Alberich was the most horrendous of the small whole black Nibelungs, ugly.
The Nibelungs had cross, while knitting the eyelashes faces, because they was always
scolding each other.
They had been quarreling for morning up to night, so, their faces clearly, grew
to seem quarrelsome and ugly.
How Alberich expedited after his/her Rhine-daughters him suddenly taken sight,
of the gold that shines in the morning sun.
He was still standing. Then he straightened on as tall as his crooked,
deformed small back it would do him/it. He opened wide his/her eyes.
"Oh! Nuns! See how Alberich is fixing our gold!" talked to low voice one of
his/her Rhine-daughters. "Perhaps this is the enemy of which it warned our father
us. As happy-go-lucky have been us!"
"Nonsense", one responded. "Who would fear this small black individual? Him
it will make us any damage. Allow him to look fixed on the gold. Come, allow us to sing!"
