Preface

The author is rather aware of the defects of this small history, many
of what inevitable was, as serially appeared before. But, as
The experiment of uncle Alec was understood to amuse the young people,
rather than to suggest instructive improvements for the

to make fines in a second volume that will try to show

Chapter 1 - Two Girls

Rose sat alone entirely in the great better living room, with her small
handkerchief placed ready to take the first torn wound, for her you/he/she was thinking
of his/her troubles, and for a shower was waited. You had retired to this

they had not succeeded very well, for her it was otherwise from their child
you/he/she had ever seen, and they felt a lot as if theirs had the care of a
dejected butterfly.

You/they had given her for Them the liberty of the house, and for one day or two
she was amused erring all on him, for him an old man of capital was
mansion, and it was full of every way of odd nooks, while enchanting
rooms and mysterious passages. Windows stormed out
unexpected places, the small balconies overhung more the garden
romantically, and there was a room superior and long flood of the curiosities
