to the trial, resulting in what was known as Federation. Then the came
Constitution of 1787 and the formation of the, so he/she called, the United States
as a separate nationality. The United States that next they are passed through two
trials defined of favors crystallization,--one in 1812-1814, when
the second war with Great Britain, and more especially our naval
victories, made to turn on, especially in the north, the fire of patriotism and
the conception of the nationality; the other, mean one century later,
introduced the austere problem in a concrete form, and finally the suit
unification of a community--if for best or for worse it is anybody
matter--it was beaten from iron and it cemented in blood. It is now there; a
done established. Secession is a lost cause; and, if for good or
for sick, the United States exists, and it will continue to exist, an unified
I Husk Power. Now sovereignty remains to Washington, and neither in
Columbia for Carolina Meridionale neither to Boston for Massachusetts. The State
it only exists as an integral portion of the United States. That problem has
state fought out. The result is standing over controversy; brought around from
a generation now passed on, but to that I belonged.
