point. The extension of this column of water will vary
notably according to the tide and the time of unloading;
for example, on a 22 ft tide if the I unload it starts a hour
after the turn of the tide and continuous for two hours, as
in the preceding example, it will form a column four miles along,
while if it started two hours after the tide, and
continued for the same length of time, the column would be six
miles and a long mean but the percentage of sewage in the
water would be infinitesimal.

In of the cases you/he/she can be essential that sewage should be
borne over a certain point in front of the current turns in order to
