Capitolo 84
In form, in value and in the ability of arm,
Nobody is able gainsay him. Sees how wisely well
The hath of Hermes they put the brave against the strong one!
Compared them they are standing, the shield of each
Bearing the image of of the adversary:
One contains aloft his/her Typhon that breathes fire,
But, on the other shield, in symbol he/she sits
Zeus, calm and strong, and fans his/her arrow to blaze--
Zeus, seen of everybody, anchor not sees of anybody to fail!
Howbeit, weak it is reposed of trust in Sky--
Still it is us on the victorious side of Zeus,
The enemy, with those him the combed fabric--if in sooth
Zeus against Typhon held the superior hand,
And if Hyperbius, (how good hap
When two such enemies so different bear of emblems)
Has Zeus on his/her shield, a signal of saving.
CHOIR
Tall faith is mine that him of who shield
Bears, against Zeus the thing of hate.
The giant Typhon, so it revealed,
A monster abhorred of of the eternal ones
And deadly men--this decree will earn
A smashed skull, in front of the gate!
THE SPY
Push of the wave of sky it this way!
A fifth assailant now
Has put against the our fifth one, the northerner, gate,
Fronting I death-bury her/it where the lies of Amphion
The child of Zeus.
This foeman votes its faith,
On a mystical lance-head that he holds
More saint of a divinity and surer
To find his/her mark that some look of eye,
What, their desire, their nill, he will storm and it will ransack
The taking of the Cadmeans. Such his/her oath--
His, the daring warrior, still of childish years,
A gem of beauty first flower, his/her child
Of Zeus and of the houseservant of mountain. I mark
As down the soft one is waxing on his/her cheek,
Often and close-increasing in his/her tender spring--
In name, not the humor, is him the child of a young girl--
Parthenopaeus; great and bright his/her eyes
But fierce the wherewith of the anger him the foreheads the gate:
He/she anchors not the unheralded he maintains his/her position
