And the islands that lie fronting our sea-axle,
and the Eastland looks at every one,
Lesbo and Chios and Paros,
and Samos with grown olive-trees,
It is Naxos and the stone of Myconos,
and Tenos with Andros I last from,
And islands that in Aegean midmost,
to distance from the continent, lie--
It is Lemnos and the taking of Icaros--
all these to his/her scepter you/he/she was arched,
It is Cnidos and neighbouring Rhodes,
and Alone, and Paphos the proud one,
It is Salamis of Cyprian name-child of her,
who the beaten hath us this evil!
Yea and the whole line of Ionian,
where inhabitants' crowd Greek-been born,
And the cities are abounding with gold--
Darius was gentleman of them all,
And, great from his/her wisdom, he dominated,,
and there it came never to his/her call,
In order of supporter and infallible,
the heads of warrior of our earth,
And it mixed allied by the tribes

But there is not now anybody to gainsay
