all, the real ghost of Darius they called from the shadowland from the
libations of Atossa and to whine attractive of the Choir. The
according to, indeed, really you don't dare to address the regal ghost: but Atossa
bravely it narrates to him the catastrophe of what, in the lowest world,
Darius has not known anything, although he understands that disaster, soon or
late it is the destiny of the deadly power. As the history you/he/she is explained, a spirit
of prophecy possesses him/it, and him diviner the next butchery of
Plataea; then, with a last real admonition that the won Xerxes
, on his/her return, is received with every ceremony and the observance,
and with a characteristic that warns to the elderly men that they owes
takes such pleasures as them they are able, in their years that lower him he/she returns,
to the shades. The play ends with the non dignified reappearance of
Xerxes and a procession sadness in the building of Susa. It was,
perhaps, inevitable that this closing of the great play should tilt
on the farcical one, and that the poltrooneries of Xerxes owe, in a
you measure, the generous portraiture of Aeschylus I darken of Atossa and Darius.
But its magnificent portrait of the battle of Salamis is unequalled
in the poetic annalses of naval war. Any account of the flight of the
Army, any records of Lepanto or Trafalgar you/he/she can justly have put close to
it. The Messenger was able well, as Prosperous, announcements a tragedy from

Five years later _The Persians_, in 467 B. C. the play that us
you call the _Seven against Thebes_ you/he/she was introduced to Athens. It is born
now a title for which Aeschylus has not been able to give really to him, nevertheless
the scene of the play neglects the region where the city of Thebes
later it entered being, still in the same play, Thebes is,
_never_ mentioned. The scene of action is the Cadmea or Citadel
