translates the tragedies sopravviventi of Aeschylus, one he feels plain tilted
to repeat the words approximately used by a powerful critic one of the
greater than modern poets--"For man, it is a tired way to God but a
more tired far to some demigods." We won't discover the full succession
of the mighty dramatic conception of Aeschylus: "we know partly, and us
you prophesy partly." The introduction (the pp. the xvi.-xviii.) premised from
The Mr. A. O. Prickard to his/her edition of the _Prometheus_ is full of
the grace of persuasive, on this theme: to him, and to the Dr. Verrall of
Cambridge--the sidera_ of _lucida of help and encouragement in the study of
Aeschylus--the thanks of the translator they are due, and it is with gratitude and
affectionately made.
