_THE MONOPOLIST INSTINCTS._
In the first one of these the later-supper _causeries_ to which I have humbly ventured
I comment that Patriotism was a vulgar vice of which I had never been
guilty. That the innocent indiscretion of mine woke up to the moment some
unfavourables make comments. I confess me I was sorry for him. But I passed him/it from
to the duration, so that not I should talk too much to hurry and I should lose my temperament. I go again

I don't say what I often think. At least, not very of him. I don't often do
you find the opportunity. And, besides, being a timid and a modest man, I am afraid

Patriotism is one of the Monopolist Instincts. And the Monopolist
Instincts are the greatest enemies of the social life in humanity. Them

I will take Patriotism before, because it is the most specious of them
all, and it still has the a satisfied opportunity of itself to disguise himself/herself/themselves as a virtue. But
after what is Patriotism? "My country, right or badly; and only
because it is the country of _my_." It is not anything more than a wider form of
