A CROOKED RUN

_A NOVEL_

FROM MRS. ALEXANDER,

A CROOKED RUN.

CHAPTER ME.

"CLOUDS THAT GATHER."

The London season had not reached its height yet, of the years ago before
the arc that admits Constitution Hill had been swept back to make space
for the enormous one, brook never-in increase of traffic or the plebeian 'the bus
you/he/she had been permitted to penetrate the enclosures of Place of Hamilton. It was
the morning of one splendid day, one of the first of June and to that
now the roadway among the entry to Hyde Park and the gate then
surmounted by the statue of the Duke of Wellington on his/her steed that bends
it was free comparatively, when two gentlemen that come from opposite
directions recognized each other, and it made a break to the gate of Apsley
House--the elder, a strong man, florid of military aspect, middle age,
and middle height, with the great moustaches grey and small, slightly
red eyes; it is probable that the more young people that were tall and bony would have been
thirty, or also forty, so serious and calm it was his carrying, even if his
erect carriage, elastic footstep, and acute and clear dark eyes suggested first
virility.

Both they had the glance well dressed, of coolness bathed and indescribable detail to
English of the "superior ten."

"Have! Errington! I didn't know that you are in the city. I thought that you are
going in cruise in some place with Melford or rusticating to Room of Garston. I think
His/her father if it waited for Him around this duration."

"I think of no. I had summoned telegraph from Paris. My father was
grabbed with a paralysis last week. He had come as soon as above in city, and for
some days were dangerously sick, but you/he/she are slowly recovering now."

"Very sorry to feel of him. A man of his/her postage stamp would have been of immense
you appraise to the country. He had started to take a part a lot of principal in local
matters. I have trust he will come to round."

"I fear that he won't be again never the same. I doubt if he will be able to
his/her own directed business as him it used."
