as delightfully as it would be possible in some age, and it still performed
almost thousand years ago. Any bishop ever deserved the holiness
more, or it made a more practical contribution to the Church. Pope
Celestine III. canonizes him/it in 1194.
Bernward came of a noble family. Its figure can be seen--as nearby
an approach to a portrait of this great worker as us we have--among
the bas-reliefs on the beautiful choir-screen in St. Michael
Church in Hildesheim.

The cross performed from his/her own hands of Bernward in 994 it is a superb job,
with filigree that covers the whole one, and it put with gems the cabochon_ of _en,
with pearls and precious and ancient stones, you carve with Greek divinity
in carving. Also, the chandeliers of St. Bernward are more anymore
interesting. They is made of a metal composed of gold, silver,

Didron has compared them, in their use of form animal, to the art
of the Mexicans; but to me theirs seem that more it likes German delicious
Romantic workmanship, tilting himself/herself/itself more verse that of certain animate
Grotesques of Lombard, or also that of Arles and the certain parts of
France, that to the Aztec to whom Didron has reference. The small one
climbing figures, while they certainly has very great hands and
feet, are still endowed with a certain happy action; all of them
gives the impression of really to do an effort,--them you/they are trying
scalar, instead of simply occupying places in the foliage. There
it is a lot of strength and energy exposed in everybody of them,
and, while the job is ill-mannered and makes rough, it is virile. It is not
