PREFACE.
The plot of this small job was thought than from the writer in first the
month of December, 1862, on to feel the history of a soldier from New
Orleans that has arrived as soon as from Field Douglas in duration to see his/her wife
dies to Jackson Mississippi. Even if the Press of that city did anybody
notice of him, the case introduced him as an appropriate subject for a
literary work. If the portrait drawn in the following pages appears
exaggerated to our readers, they will recognize at least the moral ones it
it contains as truthful.
Having trust that the public will neglect his many defects, the author
it hopes there still you/he/she will be found in this small book, the matter of
enough interest to while by the inactive time of the reader.
