THE OATH.
"Me, Abram Hurd while calling sky, earth and hell to testify, face more solemnly
you swear, in presence of these, my individual-being, and in the ears of the
spirits of the invisible world, that I now take on me the obligation
of a member of the _Order of the League of Independents_, as staid down in
the rules ordered for the government of said Order, and he/she explained to me
this night; and I also force me to respect the officers of the League
who me will be named above for the good government of the same, in the
show of everybody and unusual the duties to which my will be in demand
hands; and I force besides me to advance the affairs of the

worlds, that I will faithfully hold the secrets of the order, and of everybody

the justice, to clarify them in suits to law or in criminal prosecutions,
