The sheriff takes on a position on the side of the road. As the miners
comes above to him, he calls them for "to halt himself/herself/themselves."

"Where is you/he/she going?" he requires.

"To Harleigh", Metz responds.

"Who gave him permission to parade?"

"We am practicing our rights as city."

"Well, you cannot march in a body on the public road of Pennsylvania."

"Then we can separate our procession and we can individually walk."

"_In the direction of Hazelton_", it says Sheriff Marlin, meaningfully. "ME
knows that al which is on you;  You think that I will allow her to cause a
comprehensive strike in Harleigh because you are closed out? Not if I know
me."

When the miners come to a halt, the men are gathered ahead of Metz
and the sheriff.

Thirty men now surround the sheriff.

Some of them are, clearly, in advance of him.

"Gets back to Hazleton", Sheriff Marlin cries, to the same raising of time
his/her arm above of his/her head and waving them.

He pushes his/her way through the crowd of miners to the edge of the road.

Street comes to its hat

It is the signal that Plasters Captain you/he/she is waiting himself/herself/itself.

"Society, attention!"

Two hundred Coal and Iron Police jump to their feet.

"Gets back to Hazleton or me I will pick her up imprisoned", cries the sheriff.

But its words are lost. The miners are terror-stricken. The sight of the
you patrol, armed with deadly rifles, you/he/she has been miners insensitive to
every thought and impulse but that by instinct of maintenance.

They sprinkles on and down the road.

"Don't allow them to escape to Harleigh", cries the sheriff. Taking this as
an order, the police open fire on the men that the sheriff has passed.

Break! break! goes the rifles.

Every hit shoots down a miner. They is practically to the faces of the
weapon.

A miner dresses again wicker on the bank on the left to get out some series of the
police on that side. He has spoken for enigmas to the pellets from the opposite one
side.

Another plunges him in a bank of snow;  if any protection allows him/it. "Puts in vase that
