The Hebrews found some consolation for the pains of present in the thought of
past liberations. The historical and short record known as the "Roll of paper of
Fasting" (_Megillath Taanith_) perhaps starts in front of the destruction

roll of paper contained thirty-five paragraphs of brief writings in Aramaic. The

the historical jobs compiled by the Hebrews in front of their dispersion from
Palestine. Such jobs differ from those of Josephus and the Sibyl in
