introduced to the Philippine Government by their native owners and it was

Ah! thing a beautiful, inhaling cheerful sight that flag was fluttering

At the end of June I called on Admiral Dewey that, after having complimented
I on _the triumph rapid of the Philippine Revolution_, it told me
to him you/he/she had been asked by the German Admirals and French because he allowed
the Filipinos to expose on their vases a flag that was not
recognized. Admiral Dewey said his you/he/she replies to French and the German
Admirals were--with knowledge of _his and it consents the Filipinos it used that
flag_, and, separately from this, he was of opinion that in sight of the
the courage and constancy of purpose exposed in the war against
the Spaniards the Filipinos deserved the right to use their flag.
