CHAPTER ME
ON THE FOOTSTEP
Only because my father stirred, to the closing of the civil war, from Georgia
to Texas, it is to this good time a mystery to me. While we didn't do
precisely belongs to the poor whites, we classified with them in poverty,
tenants that are; but I am tilted for thinking my parents it was
intellectually superior to that type of ground of ownership common of the South. Both they were
born foreigner, my mother that is Scottish and my father a north of Ireland
man,--as me I remember him/it, now impulsive, hasty in action, and slow to
you confess a guilt. It was his/her impulsiveness that has conducted him to voluntarily give
and it serves four years of army,--difficult and Confederate years to mine
mother, with a brood of seven children to feeding, attire and house. The
