The Questionists as the university students that prepare for B.A. you/he/she had called
in the term of October, it was considered as a separate body; picked up to
a separate table in the Room, not frequenting lectures, but he/she invited to frequent
a system of examinations beta duct within one of the Guardians or
Assistant-tutelary.
From the Actions, from the examinations of annual University and (I suppose)
from enquiries in the separate Universities, the Moderators acquired, a
the general idea of the relative worths of the candidates for
honours. Driven by this, the candidates were separated in six
classes. The Moderators and Assistant Examiners was offered each
with a set of questions in manuscript (any printed paper was used for
Honours in the Senate House; in respect to the [Greek: hoi polloi] ME
you/he/she cannot say). The Monday on which the examination started, his/her Father
of the university the whole Questionists received (I believe), in every case
all the candidates for honours, at breakfast in the Combination Room
at 8 o'clock, and it marched them to the Senate House. My place with
the other honour-man they were in the East Gallery. There an Examiner took
1 position and 2 classes it united, another Examiner took the
3 and 4 classes united, and a bystanders took the 5 and 6
united. In Tuesday, an Examiner frequented alone the 1 class a second,
frequented the 2 and 3 united classes, a bystanders took the 4 and 5
classes united, and a quarter they frequented alone the 6 class. In Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday the changes were similar. And, in everybody, the
questioning was conducted this way. The examiner read from his/her manuscript
the first question. Those that could answer proceeded him to write out
their answers, and as soon as one had ended him it gave the word
"Fact"; then the examiner read out his/her second question, while repeating him/it
when necessary for the understanding from those that you/they took him/it on more
